| The students at both Blodgett and Roberts School participated in a SUGAR LAB, thanks to McDonalds at Townsend Street. |

| Each student was offered a sweet snack - BUT - before eating it, they had to calculate the sugar content in their chosen snack. |
 |
| They converted grams of sugar to teaspoons and created a visual to share with the school community. The actual amount of sugar was measured into baggies and, with the snack package, they created posters. |
 |
| The students received many comments from students, teachers and visitors to the school. |

| A lesson on "the effects of sugar" followed. Students also prepared a healthy snack which contained much less sugar |
