Thanks, McDonalds! SUGAR LAB

The students at both Blodgett and Roberts School participated in a SUGAR LAB, thanks to McDonalds at Townsend Street.

Each student was offered a sweet snack - BUT - before eating it, they had to calculate the sugar content in their chosen snack.

They converted grams of sugar to teaspoons and created a visual to share with the school community.  The actual amount of sugar was measured into baggies and, with the snack package,  they created posters.

The students received many comments from students, teachers and visitors to the school.

A lesson on "the effects of sugar" followed.  Students also prepared a healthy snack which contained much less sugar
.
Thanks again to McDonalds at Townsend Street Syracuse!!
